スパニッシュタウンで生まれ育ったIneziにとって、音楽は最初から生活の一部だった。歌手だった父の旋律と、地元のサウンドシステムCooper Toneが刻むリズムの中で育ち、幼い頃から歌と言葉への感性を育んでいった。 Music has always been part of daily life for Inezi, who grew up in Spanish Town, Jamaica. His father's melodies and the pulsing rhythms of the local Cooper Tone sound system shaped his early days, nurturing a voice and a way with words from a young age.
ソロで歩み出す前、Ineziが在籍したグループKonsciousは、ジャマイカのMagnum Kings and Queens大会での活躍がオリンピック金メダリスト、アサファ・パウエルの目に留まり、マネジメント契約を結んだ。この経験は、その後アーティストとして歩む道の礎となった。 Before going solo, Inezi's group Konscious caught the attention of Olympic champion Asafa Powell during Jamaica's Magnum Kings and Queens competition, who signed them to a management deal — an early chapter that shaped the artist he would become.
2008年11月、グループKonsciousの活動はWorld Reggae News(日本)でも報じられ、アサファ・パウエルによるマネジメントに加え、レゲエ・プロデューサーのスティーブン・マクレガーが楽曲プロデュースに関わったことが伝えられた。 In November 2008, Konscious was covered by World Reggae News in Japan, reporting that beyond Asafa Powell's management, reggae producer Stephen McGregor was involved in producing the group's music.
ソロとして歩み始めてからは、ジャマイカ国内でのライブ活動を重ね、BBC 1Xtra(Seani B)によるキングストンでの野外ショーケースにも出演。「Straight Away」「Roots and Culture」「No Love」といったシングルで存在感を示していく。 As a solo artist, Inezi built momentum through live performances across Jamaica, including a BBC 1Xtra (Seani B) outdoor showcase in Kingston, and singles such as "Straight Away," "Roots and Culture," and "No Love."
2020〜2021年、スイス拠点のAddis Recordsと制作した「Rise」「Sorry Fah」「African Proverbs」がBBC 1XtraのDavid Rodiganの目に留まり、「African Proverbs」はSpotifyで19万回超の再生を記録。2021年末にはGlobal Beat Studios(Huey Gowdie)とマネジメント契約を結び、2022年4月、初のEP「Pain and Pleasure」をリリース。Rodiganはこの作品を「first class」と評した。 Between 2020–2021, tracks made with Switzerland-based Addis Records — "Rise," "Sorry Fah," and "African Proverbs" — caught the attention of BBC 1Xtra's David Rodigan; "African Proverbs" went on to surpass 190,000 streams on Spotify. In late 2021, Inezi signed a management deal with Global Beat Studios (Huey Gowdie), releasing his debut EP, Pain and Pleasure, in April 2022 — a release Rodigan called "first class."
